Jay M. Hoelscher, MD

Raised in a small farming community in Nebraska, Dr. Hoelscher earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He went on to graduate from medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. During his undergraduate studies, he attended the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Monterrey, Mexico, where he studied Spanish. Over the years, he has become fluent in Spanish, enhancing his ability to care for his Spanish-speaking patients.

Dr. Hoelscher views the practice of medicine as a blend of science and the humanities. He is deeply dedicated to his patients, stating, “It is an honor to earn the trust of my patients and apply science along with compassion and empathy to solve their health problems.”

In his free time, Dr. Hoelscher enjoys landscaping his yard with a garden model railroad, cycling, and spending quality time with his wife and children.
