Dr. Dolce’s passion for neurology stems from a fascination with the brain’s complexities, particularly in the context of epilepsy. Recognizing the unpredictable nature of this condition, she prioritizes a patient-centered approach, focusing on achieving seizure freedom through personalized treatment plans. To achieve this, she conducts comprehensive evaluations to thoroughly understand each patient’s unique epilepsy presentation. She utilizes the latest research to inform treatment decisions, carefully weighing potential benefits and risks through evidence-based practice. Most importantly, she actively incorporates patient and caregiver values and preferences to build trust and ensure alignment with treatment goals. Dr. Dolce also focuses on the patient’s quality of life, balancing seizure control with minimizing treatment side effects to optimize patients’ daily functioning.

Dr. Dolce is a recognized leader in pediatric neurology, with a distinguished career. She co-founded The Epilepsy Care Center, dedicated to elevating patient care. She is a former Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Neurology, and Neurotherapeutics at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and previously served as the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program Director and Co-director of the Tuberous Sclerosis Clinic at UT Southwestern. She has expertise in neonatal/fetal neurology and extensive experience treating refractory epilepsy in the DFW Metroplex and beyond, earning recognition as a top specialist in D Magazine. Further, she has presented at regional, national, and international conferences and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, including book chapters and original reviews.

Dr. Dolce understands the importance of empathetic and collaborative care. As a mother of four, she appreciates the concerns of caregivers and is committed to active listening and open communication. She empowers patients and families to participate in treatment decisions, creating a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and concerns are addressed. Dr. Dolce strives to foster optimism, and transform negative feelings into positive action. Dr. Dolce, alongside her colleague Dr. Andrea Lowden, established The Epilepsy Care Center with the goal of enhancing the quality of patient care. Their mission is to empower patients and families, fostering a sense of control and optimism throughout the treatment journey.
