Eric Wroten, MD

Dr. Eric Wroten is a board-certified orthopedic hand surgeon in his hometown of Fort Worth.  He has been repeatedly recognized as a top hand surgeon in North Texas.

Dr. Wroten opened the Fort Worth Hand Center in 2006 and joined Texas Health Care in 2010.  He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.  Dr. Wroten completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.  He then completed his training with a fellowship in hand surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital at the Philadelphia Hand Center.

Dr. Wroten is board certified in orthopedic surgery and has his hand certification.  He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Texas Orthopedic Association, Texas Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Society, and the American Academy of Hand Surgery.  Dr. Wroten has been named numerous times as a top orthopedic doctor in the Fort Worth magazine, a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly magazine, and has won several patient choice awards.

A sports enthusiast, Dr. Wroten serves as a team doctor for Texas Christian University and as a consultant for the University of Texas at Arlington, Baylor University, and other various area universities.  “Medicine allows me the opportunity to meet new people every day,” says Dr. Wroten, who thinks orthopedic hand surgery is the most exciting field of medicine.  “Because of the complicated anatomy of the upper extremity, there are days in the clinic where no two patients have the same problem.”

Dr. Wroten’s goal as a physician is to treat patients as though they are members of his family.  He strives to develop positive doctor-patient relationships by educating patients about procedures and treatment options.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Wroten enjoys spending time with his wife, Cynda, and their two sons.  He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf.
