Martin Read, MD

Dr. Martin Read is an obstetrician and gynecologist caring for patients from his offices in Fort Worth and North Richland Hills.  He was named a 2022 “Top Doctor” by Fort Worth Magazine.  

“I love my job and the people I take care of,” Dr. Read says – and he takes care of a lot of people, having delivered more than 10,000 babies in his career!  He also specializes in minimally invasive surgery, high-risk obstetrics, endometrial ablation and in-office hysteroscopy.  

“I chose to become a physician because of my desire to serve,” Dr. Read explains.  “I was raised in a family of physicians and saw the huge rewards of caring for others.”  He was drawn to the field of obstetrics and gynecology by “the miracle of childbirth, the opportunities to perform life changing surgeries for patients and the joy of developing enduring relationships as I have served women through all stages of their lives.” 

Dr. Read received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington before graduating from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.  He completed his residency at St. Paul Hospital and Parkland Hospital in Dallas. 

Dr. Read is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and an associate professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth.  He is also fluent in Spanish.  

Dr. Read is married with three children and four grandchildren.  He is an outdoors enthusiast and enjoys hunting, boating and travel.
