Robert Zwernemann, MD

Dr. Robert Zwernemann is an obstetrician and gynecologist serving patients at his practices in Fort Worth and Haltom City.  

Dr. Zwernemann says he was fascinated by science growing up, which spurred him to pursue a career in medicine.  He received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University before going on to medical school at Texas A&M Health Science Center.  He completed his residency at Christus St. Joseph Hospital in Houston in 1999.  Dr. Zwernemann is a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  He is also fluent in Spanish.  

Obstetrics and gynecology appealed to Dr. Zwernemann because it is one of the only medical specialties that combines procedurally based medicine – such as surgery and deliveries – and long-term continuity of care for patients.  Dr. Zwernemann provides his patients with a full range of services, including minimally invasive and in-office procedures.  He is also an experienced laparoscopic surgeon.  

“Not only do I enjoy the challenge of medicine, but one of the greatest rewards and self-actualization for me is getting to know the patient over time, gaining trust and helping wherever I can,” says Dr. Zwernemann.  “Having practiced for over 20 years, I have enjoyed the relationships I have made with my patients, as well as the numerous advances in our field.” 

Dr. Zwernemann is married to a pediatrician who practices in Southlake.  They have two children, Zoe and Ian, who are both students at the University of North Texas.  

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Zwernemann enjoys movies and exercise, as well as working with computers and 3-D printers.
