Ruby Laskin, MD

Dr. Laskin is a Trauma and Critical Care Physician. She grew up in Vancouver, Canada as the granddaughter of a general surgeon, prior to electing to attend Earlham College in Indiana to play on the field hockey team.  

After graduation, she secured a job at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as a Clinical Coordinator Doctor of the “22Q and You” Center, further inspiring her to pursue a medical career.  She went on to graduate from Temple University School of Medicine before completing her general surgery residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA, and her surgical critical care fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.  She sought an additional year of training at UT Southwestern and Parkland Memorial Hospital as an Acute Care Surgery fellow to round out her education. 

The desire to pursue additional training in trauma care came from her experience in a severe car crash as a child and the impact that the compassionate care of those surgeons had on her.  In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, surfing, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.
